Laura Dawson is Chief Information Officer at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has been a leader in the Charity and Not for Profit sector for nearly 30 years including RSPB, Save the Children UK and British Council. Since 2006, Laura has been a trustee for Charity IT Leaders and in more recent years has become a Trustee of the London Universities Procurement Group and a Board member for LSE Cities, a research think tank looking into the positive and negative impacts of the built environment. She is an advocate for ensuring that we get the value out of data and ensuring that technology is making a difference to our beneficiaries and students and does so by creating a team environment that is inclusive, supportive and driving for results. She has a passion for nature which she developed at her time with RSPB which can result in a few distractions if an unusual species is nearby. A Watford FC fan and season ticket holder, Laura has learned to manage her expectations expertly.
