Suzy is the Head of Informatics Research at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. She is Technical Director of PIONEER, a research database that provides access to an industry standard analytical environment for analysing linked longitudinal patient data. Her main role within PIONEER is to ensure the successful creation and delivery of the analytical platform and the acute care datasets. She leads on the technological strategy in conjunction with the PIONEER Technical team, including the establishment of standard procedures to monitor progress and quality assurance. Suzy is always looking for innovative uses of technology and data for PIONEER to ensure the products and services offered are both industry standard and cutting edge.

Suzy is also the Deputy Director of PIONEER, working closely with Professor Liz Sapey to ensure the delivery of this cross-sector, collaborative programme and that health data insights are translated rapidly into benefits for patients.
