Dave Backman joined HP in March of 2022 as an Offerings Architect and Technical Evangelist within the HP Workforce Services & Solutions organization. As an Evangelist in the Device as a Service (DaaS) product group, he is responsible for espousing the virtues and benefits of all HP Services and Solutions as they relate to endpoint and lifecycle management. The engagement model is inclusive of assisting customers, partners, and the HP internal technical teams to better understand the services the offerings and value they bring to bear. Gathering feedback from those varying groups, leveraging those insights to drive a continuous improvement process is a key aspect of the role. As an architect, he also helps shape the service offering to support the Hybrid Work environment and ensure our customers can maintain an up to date and highly secure endpoint estates. Prior to joining HP, Backman was a Principal Program Manager and Technical Evangelist at Microsoft. His career spanned a total of 14 years with the first 10 working in the Microsoft IT organization as a relationship manager supporting the US Field Selling organization. His last 4 years were spent in the Windows Servicing and Delivery Engineering organization as an Evangelist for Windows. As a thought leader in this space, Backman focuses on establishing service management maturity, change management methodologies and traditional IT thinking of managing an OS upgrade as a project to transforming an IT’s culture, people, process and tools in order to run Windows as a continuous process. Prior to joining Microsoft, Backman’s career primarily focused on IT Infrastructure roles, running the desktop engineering and client operations for enterprise organizations like Expedia. He has held IT Infrastructure positions in the broadcast, legal, publishing, healthcare, financial services, travel and software development industries. Backman has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Information Systems Management and holds a Master of Business Administration, both from Western Washington University. In addition to his degree's, Backman is ITIL 4.0 certified and has held a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
